HOME MADE FOOD FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Please click on the list below for home made food to be delivered to your accommodation.

There are many halal takeaways and restaurants around campus, which students can visit.

As a responsible society, we advise students to opt for outlets, which are certified as HMC. We believe this is a safer option in terms of finding genuinely halal food. HMC stands for Halal Monitoring Committee.

The Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC UK) is an independent, not for profit, registered charity organization whose main aim is to certify the production of genuine Halal food. HMC complies with the UK Laws for food production, as well as Islamic dietary compliance Laws. To find HMC Certified Meat and Poultry please visit www.halalhmc.org

A list of Schools in Preston have been endorsed by the Lancashire Council of Mosques to be genuinely halal (HMC Certified). The list can be found on the LCM website. For more information, please visit www.lancashiremosques.com and click on Halal section.

The University of Central Lancashire is NOT endorsed by the Lancashire Council of Mosques so we advise caution before purchasing any food from the University canteens. We kindly advise you to enquire as to whether the food is genuinely halal and request for a halal criteria.

The halal criteria can be found on the link below of the LCM website:

Please note: We cannot advise if the food on campus is genuinely halal without the LCM endorsement.
